Pichwais are exquisitely devotional paintings illustrating scenes from Lord Krishna’s life; these were hung behind the idol to heighten a shrine’s splendour. An art form that was produced by and for the Pushtimarg sect of Hinduism, the tradition of Pichwais was founded by Mahaprabhu Shri Vallabhacharya ji in the 15th century.

At The House Of Things, we aspire to revive this vanishing art form, and preserve its delicate workmanship with a careful selection that is a juxtaposition of both modern and traditional art forms of the Pichwai.
