The Portuguese were the first to bring porcelain from China by sea, in the 16th century. Vista Alegre celebrates this moment of contact between the East and the West with the pot Mare Clausum, of the collection Je Kraak. Kraak, the Dutch name given to this porcelain, comes from the Portuguese carrack ships, hence the name of this collection – Je Kraak.
Comic books meet porcelain in the Je Kraak collection, showcasing stories with different themes by comic book illustrators.
