Worshipped and celebrated most in the western part of India, Shrinathji is a form of Lord Krishna depicted as a 7 year old balak or child. Apart from the traditional Shrinathji in black marble made famous by the Nathdwara Temple in a quaint dusty town of Rajasthan not too far from Udaipur, folk traditions have enabled pichwai and sculpture artisans to innovate various renditions of this popular idol. Seen often in homes, offices, cars and even in jewellery, this contemporary minimal manifestation of Shrinathji is matched perfectly to modern home interiors today. Handcarved and gilded with brass and white metal, it makes a perfect acquisition or gift for those who are spiritually inclined.
